You don’t know what you don’t know, or as the great lyricist of the 1990’s once said, “I wish I didn’t know now what I didn’t know then.” Huh?
Point is, there are a lot of Cannabis farmers out there anxiously awaiting Federal Crop Insurance for their Hemp crops. They know they want Federal Crop Insurance, but they don’t actually know what Federal Crop Insurance is.
While we wait for the Feds to come together to make meaningful policy, could take awhile, I thought it would be beneficial for Cannabis producers to obtain a basic understanding of what Federal Crop insurance is. This should have two desired outcomes; they know what they are buying when it actually comes out, and more importantly, they know what to lobby for.
A lot of times there are rules being made behind closed doors by people that think rock and roll is the devil’s music, and CBD gets you high. These people need our help and input to develop a program that will help Cannabis Agriculture become a sustainable and profitable business endeavor for all.
We will be releasing articles periodically that touch on how the current programs work for crops like Winter Wheat to help teach you what is out there. We will do our best to keep it as entertaining as we can, but be forewarned….it’s insurance sooooooo BYOC (bring your own caffeine).
